Club History

Tate Ski Club has a connection to Guthega Village dating back to the 1950s when Guthega Village was first established for the construction of the Guthega hydro electric project. 

Originally the club was the Snowy Mountains Authority Ski Club which converted one of the original construction buildings into a ski lodge used until the present 18 bed lodge was constructed on the same site in 1970. 

At that time the club was renamed.  The club membership is at present limited to 120 and comprises to a  significant extent present and former employees of the Snowy Mountains Authority and their families.
